Robyn Selleck’s mother died of leukaemia on June 10. Her final days were spent in a palliative care facility suffering extreme pain and with little mobility.
Honestly. You’re going to die. You’ve been told you're going to die. You ARE dying. You're in pain. You're life is over. You cant even enjoy the last bit of life you have left. Sorry, you have to suffer. YOU, an individual, who can choose what paths in life to take, who can vote, who pays taxes, who is a part of the human race… Cant legally make the choice to die? Wow. What a fucked up system.
Even a simple trip to the toilet became an ordeal.
Yep. Case and point.
“She was absolutely horrified at the idea of anyone having to assist her to the toilet,” Robyn said. “So determined was she to avoid this that, weak and absolutely racked with pain, she would every few hours stagger the few steps to the toilet and back.
Hey hey hey, did you know, by funnelling medical money into dying cripples, were literally SAVING money? Yeah yeah yeah. I know. Lets do some crack after this.

From there, things got worse for her mother.
“Eventually, she had to be ‘rescued’ from the toilet when she became stranded there, too weak to move,” Robyn said.
Oh you silly woman. What do you know? Clearly our government has all the “right” choices and CLEARLY “knows” what is best for you. Just submit already and pay your dam taxes. Your mother? Clearly its YOUR TAXES being put to good use. Its like buying a horse with a broken leg, waiting a month for it to mope around crippled and THEN you shoot it. BEST PURCHASE EVER! Only if you decide to beat the horse and take a video of it and then post the video on the internet every time you say “TALK ABOUT BEATING A DEAD HORSE” You’ll be praised for your funny.

That’s one hardcore dying old woman. We should have an Olympics for these people.
Soon after, she “mercifully” lapsed into unconsciousness and died a few days later. But her clear wish had been to avoid the pain, suffering and indignity of those final days.

Robyn’s experience left her supporting calls for assisted suicide to be made legal, as a Bill rejected by the Victorian Parliament last week had proposed.
YOU VOTED THESE PEOPLE INTO PARLAMENT! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!
She said the Bill’s defeat was “disappointing”, but acknowledged the arguments of opponents who feared there would not be sufficient safeguards to protect vulnerable people.
Here’s my super dooper unbeatable safe guard. So, cripple dying person who understands that we’ve just told you you are going to die and there is no hope and are clearly suffering agony every day just to shit yourself… Do you want to die? If you answered No, the safeguard kicks in and death is halted. Really. I thought of that in 5 fucking seconds. They should hire me. Then I’d actually have REAL proof that I’m a doctor instead of my phone bills just coming out with DR on them.
Robyn was also fulsome in her praise of the “outstanding” palliative care her mother received, treatment some opponents say should ease the suffering for patients.
Money better spent on people who WANT/NEED it. Oh look, a steaming pile of dog shit. Lets clean it up and paint it red so its pretty. Seriously. Get a fucking brain.
But she remains convinced that assisted suicide should be an option for people like her mother.
“I realise there’s a Pandora’s Box with euthanasia,” she said. “But it’s got to be an improvement on what we have now.”
